This is an old-time Arizona steak house. You are just like one of the family if your family is a bunch of folksy restaurant workers and whole lot of tourists and locals. This is an old cowboy hang out. It has not been fancied up. The food is plain and simple. The salad bar and sides are even crude. The steaks are good and grilled out front on the enormous Mesquite grill. The 32-ounce porter house is enough for two. I once ate two one time because they muffed the order and gave me both steaks. Like I said the sides and salads are not fancy. The service is friendly but harried when busy and irregular when slow. The steaks and the view are what people have been coming here for all these years. It is the best place in Phoenix to watch the Fourth of July fireworks. You can even ride up to the restaurant for dinner on the sunset trail ride from the Ponderosa Stables down on Central.
