MEETING MINUTES
JUNE 2nd, 2010

Called to order 7:00 pm, adjourned 8:10 pm

Gregg Gave the Quiet Reminder, Introduced this year’s officers. He then welcomed our guest speaker, Daniel Sanchez, service director for Pinnacle Nissan, (our other guest, Pinnacle general manager Tory Walton was not able to attend due to illness).
Daniel introduced himself by telling us he had been at Pinnacle for two months and was new to Nissan as his previous twenty eight years in the car business included twenty five years with Ford, three with BMW and one at Toyota. He was recruited from California and his primary job was “managing” people. He said that there has been a lot of turmoil and turnover at Pinnacle recently but that he had moved his family from California and he was committed to stay here and make things work. He essentially said that he wanted to come out so that we could put a face with a name and that he was aware of the problems some of our members have had with our discounts and or car buying. He said he did not want to make any promises he could not keep but he did say he would work on the sales side of Pinnacle and that he would make sure we got our discount on parts and service no matter the make of our car and he pledged to work with us in the future. He said that he is at the dealership every day and if we have any problems to come to him personally. Daniel took some questions from the floor on the topics of work done on the Infinity side and pricing on cars and also we brought up how we could help Pinnacle as in the very successful car show we put on when the NISMO 350 was introduced. He was very well received by the club members and we believe that this was a very productive meeting. Gregg then welcomed our guest, Scott Parker who is buying his brother in law’s 77 280Z which is British racing green in color. Gregg pointed out that this would only be his first z and that there is no 12 step program for Z addiction.

Brian Passed the sign in sheet.

Jim Conducted the raffle.

Brian Gave the membership/ treasurer’s report. We currently have $1227.91 on hand and 76 members. He also reminded members that he has discount cards, decals, business cards and blue cards available.

Jim Gave the website update. He said we had one person who had
tried to sign up for the message board and was denied for some reason and that we were working on it. (Sandi Salvo joked that we were doing background checks.) Jim has submitted the Blue Banner update to the webmaster but due to the holiday weekend it was not updated yet, the events calendar is up to date.

Gregg Recent Events and Upcoming Events

Gregg reported that one of our members, Jay Figley, received in the mail a plaque for being the “Best Japanese Car” at the Route 66 Fun Run this year. (He had left before the awards ceremony was complete.) We agreed that we should all do it as a club next year. Gregg went over the run to the Sedona, Page Springs wineries on 15-16 May. He told of the mechanical delay we had at Camp Verde with his brother Jeff’s Z and the scenery provided by the “mascot” of the Viper Club who were at the McDonald’s parking lot at the same time. The wineries and dinner were both excellent and several of us enjoyed breakfast at the Sedona airport on Sunday morning.
Coming up we have the Poker run to Payson, Jim Ault gave the details, we will meet at the Barnes and Noble parking lot at the 101 and Shea. Rest of details will be on the website. $10 buy in, winner take all. Our dinner on the 19th of June is at Los Mesquites Taqueria in Cave creek, our July meeting will be on the 7th and our summer party will be on July 17th at Sandi’s from 3 to 7. We will have a breakfast on 24th of July at the Left Seat restaurant at Sky Harbor, Ward gave the information.

Member Comments/ Questions: Ward Fogelsanger updated us on the
repair of the wiring harness on his 70 240 and brought cards and
brochures from Just Dashes in Van Nuys CA where they took the
dash to be restored.
